The International Living Future Institute has recognized zHome, designed by David Vandervort Architects, with its Net Zero Energy Building Certification and Petal Certification under its Living Building Challenge program. Worldwide there are now only four projects certified as Net Zero by the institute.
The Living Building Challenge is one of the most advanced and comprehensive sustainable building standards in the industry. Amanda Sturgeon, Vice President of the organization, in reference to zHome, noted:
“This project has had an incredible impact on
our community. It has demonstrated that in fact, there is a market for net-zero energy homes and that homebuyers are willing to pay more up front knowing they will have no energy bills in the long-term.”
